A 71-year-old New York City doctor has been arrested and charged after his wife was found apparently strangled at an Upper East Side apartment, where she is believed to have lay dead for over a day.
Do you reckon after he killed her he said something cool like an 80s slasher villain? “I now pronounce time of death, 8:15PM”
Police officers were called to the home on East 87th Street just after 10pm on Wednesday where they found Janet Baran, 67, unconscious in her living room with ‘abrasions’ around her neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Maybe he wasn’t the killer? I think I’ve seen this TV show before…
According to the medical examiner, Baran’s injuries appeared to be ‘consistent with strangulation’ and she is believed to have died a day earlier.
Her husband William Winkler was arrested at the home and was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, the NYPD confirmed Thursday. Contempt seems pretty light for murder ..
He appeared before a judge late Thursday and was released without bail. He is next due in court on Feb. 22.
Well, he is a “front line hero after all. I guess he deserves a break since he is out there saving us from Corona-chan.
