The gun battle that killed two and injured another in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was sparked by rioters who confronted heavily armed civilians trying to protect a car dealership, according to a series of graphic videos.
On-the-scene reporters caught the run-up to late Tuesday’s deadly confrontation — with one even being first to aid a man who had been shot in the head, ripping off his shirt to apply pressure to his bullet wound and carrying him away to get help.
It came during an official state of emergency curfew in the city that saw a third night of riots after the police shooting of local dad Jacob Blake.
“It appears an armed citizen was defending the car dealership and opened fire on the rioter who was attempting to vandalize or burn the dealership down,” reporter Drew Hernandez said.
Before this shooting took place, the rioters were planning to burn down their ‘next car dealership,’” he said, with video supposedly capturing some of the mob bragging about their intentions as they marched over.
