I been buying the Underwood 10MM ammo a lot lately. After Maya got some for her daily carry 10mm, I switched over to using it myself . The two loads that we both really like is the 200 grain Hardcast load and the 200gr JHP load. Both at 1,250 FPS.
The load that has become my carry ammo in the 10MM is the Underwood JHP.
This is a very accurate round. It’s one of the most accurate self defense rounds I have tried in 10MM. Sadly the pictures I took of the groups got lost in the last month. I have no idea why I can’t find them but I have a pretty good idea that I accidentally deleted them with some other pictures. I will update with pictures of groups soon as I get more ammo to shoot up. Its not exactly cheap.
The other load is the excellent 200grain hardcast load. Just the thing for carrying in the hills because of the quickly rising black bear population.
Two other loads come from federal. First is there hard to find new trophy bonded jacketed soft point. It’s 180grains and 1,275 fps. This is reported to be an excellent hunting round and barrier blind.
And the 200 grain HST 10mm load.
Accuracy on the bonded JSP is not bad. The HST is meh. Again, sorry for the lack of pictures. I will correct that in a follow up post with more 10mm loads.
The 10Mm is more popular than ever with loads for about anything you could want. Not like the bad old days of over 10 years ago where all you could find was watered down .40S&W equivalent loads and handloading was your only option for decent choices. It’s great to see this awesome cartridge come back to the love it deserves.
