How To Use the Site

I can’t believe I have to do this… But I do realize that some of you boomers and geriatrics are as retarded as me and you’re having a hard time getting used to the new site. I know, new things are scary and make you fell ill at ease. I’m guilty of this myself. I don’t like change either but, that is the nature of the universe. So let’s see if I can help.

Vic passive aggressively griped in the comments about having to scroll all the way down to see the newest articles. I assume he meant on a phone. No, you don’t have to do that.

When you pull up the site on the phone, the newest post will be the top one. You can see as of right now before I post this live, Howard has a new surfing for dolphins up.

After that will be another article. Now, take your little thumby , One each, left or right, and swipe it to the left. This will let you scroll through all the newest articles in order, that are up. Then you can scroll on down to see a complete list of whats new.

On a desk top the site will look like this. The newest stuff will be in that 7ish thumbnails. Yes the archive button will be coming back as soon as Howard/Maya get it worked out.

If you want to see if there are comments while on your phone, scroll all the way down and you will see a list of the articles with the number of comments. See below.

    • Oh, at the rate things are going, I suspect Shawn is going to have to find somewhere offshore to host…

Call me a cynic, but that’s where the zeitgeist feels like it is going.

  1. Well, that’s a new one. I’ve been using the web since Lynx and it never would have occurred to me to swipe there.

Can you make those tiles display the count of comments on the article? That would be helpful. If not, I’ll just use my finger to whiz down to the section at the bottom that shows all the articles with the comment count.
