McConnell Says Barret Has Votes For Senate Confirmation

“I felt a great disturbance in the farce, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just told reporters that “we have the votes” for Senate confirmation.

McConnell says he expects Barrett’s nomination will clear the Judiciary Committee Oct. 22 and be on the Senate Floor on October 23rd (obviously before the election).

You may thank me in the comments for helping keep Mitch , Thomas Massie and Rand Paul in office.

I expect the meltdown to be epic .

  1. Now the Democrats (Schumer in particular) are talking about walking out and denying the Senate Judiciary Committee a quorum, so that they could prevent reporting Barrett to the entire Senate. The full Senate could cause a discharge of the nomination to the floor of the Senate, but it would delay the process by a day at least.

Only just a smidgeon tongue-in-cheek there; but mostly sincere.
