USMC ANM2 Stinger

B-ARFCOM user Bigbore recently shared pictures of this neat gun he made. It’s an effort to make an ANM2 Stinger machine gun. I say it’s an effort because while the gun is real and did exist, no pictures of one of the originals has been found. We know about it from word of mouth.

The gun was the model used in aircraft and had a much higher cyclic rate than the ground 30 caliber variants. The men wanted that higher rate of fire and so they fabricated up a stock from a rifle and attached some other cannibalized parts to it to come up with something that theoretically looks just like the gun above.

A famous incident involved the stinger on Iwo Jima that I’m sure you have all seen on the History Channel’s now long defunct show Shootout.
