EXPLOITATION GUN MAKING

Are you familiar with Exploitation films? Maybe you know them as better as “B-movies” though that isn’t really accurate. If you are a fan of them like me, you may know them as “Grindhouse” films. Mainly because they were shown in theaters that played them more or less 24 hours a day. Quality of the film rarely mattered as long as it got butts in seats. Let me give you a quick wikipedia definition of what an exploitation film is. Just stick with me on this.

” An exploitation film is a film that attempts to succeed financially by exploiting current trends, niche genres, or lurid content. Exploitation films are generally low-quality “B movies“.[1] They sometimes attract critical attention and cult followings. “

“Attempts to succeed financially by exploiting current trends”. This would often include news events. For instance the mason family killings, War, scandal or hell, even other more popular films.

These movies were turned out as fast and cheaply as possible while events or trends were still popular and fresh in the public’s mind.

Some of those movies are really fun and entertaining. Some are pure dreck even for some one like me who is a major fan of Exploitation films. And though while fun, that didn’t make them any less crap. Keep in mind they were made to cash in on fears, current events or some other public sentiment.

The Grindhouse ethos is still alive and well now a days. It is very clever that a gun company has caught on and applied it to it’s line of products. Cheap, fast and right up to date to exploit current events to take advantage of the demographic its marketed towards.
